INTERIM GROUP FINANCE

The group close, delivered on time.

I step into mid-sized international groups as an interim Group Financial Controller — for the consolidated close, for a consolidation system that needs fixing, or for the first joint reporting cycle after an acquisition. Remote-first from Dubai, on site when the close needs someone in the room.

Services

01

Group close and consolidation

Monthly, quarterly and year-end close for groups with several entities and currencies. Intercompany reconciliation, equity roll-forward, cash flow statement, notes — and the audit file that goes with them.

02

Consolidation systems and LucaNet

Setting up, cleaning up or migrating a consolidation system so the numbers can be trusted again. Structures, mappings, validation rules — and documentation that survives your next staff change.

03

Post-merger integration and carve-outs

Turning two charts of accounts into one, building opening balance sheets, and bringing a newly acquired or separated entity into the group reporting cycle without the close slipping.

04

Interim controlling capacity

Covering a vacancy, a parental leave or a peak period in group controlling — with someone who runs the close independently from week two, not from month three.

Approach

How a mandate starts

01

Intro call

Thirty minutes. You describe the situation, I tell you honestly whether I am the right person for it.

02

Scope and proposal

Within 48 hours you have a written scope, a timeline and a rate. No lengthy pitch process.

03

Start

Usually within two weeks. First deliverable inside the first reporting cycle, not at the end of the mandate.

Engagement models

Ways to work together

Interim mandate

· Three to twelve months

· Two to five days per week

· Remote-first, on site for close weeks and workshops

Project sprint

· One defined deliverable — a close, a migration, an integration

· Fixed scope, fixed timeline

· For a need that is sharp but temporary

Advisory retainer

· On-demand hours, booked when you need them

· Continuity after a mandate ends

· No minimum commitment

Rates on request. Invoiced from the UAE — for business clients in the EU under the reverse charge procedure.

About

Tuba Kara

I have worked in controlling since 2018 — first in financial controlling, later in group reporting and consolidation, and since 2024 independently through my own practice.

Most mandates start the same way. A consolidated close that keeps slipping. A consolidation system nobody fully trusts. Two charts of accounts that were supposed to become one last year. I do that work myself — I am not a partner who sends a team and reappears at the steering committee.

Kara Advisory is based in Dubai and licensed as Tuba Kara Advisory Consultancies – FZCO. I work with clients in Germany, Austria, Switzerland and the Gulf region, remote-first, and I travel on site when a close or a workshop genuinely calls for it.
